Zero 2030 Climate Conference and more news via our Sustainability Column.
With thanks to Pauline Cory (Transition Town Worthing).
It’s nearly time for the Zero 2030 Climate Conference (Wed 4 Mar). The event is now sold out, but you can click here to find out how get involved in future events.
The exciting line-up includes author and travel writer Isabella Tree, who has pioneered an extraordinarily successful rewilding project near Horsham with her husband, environmentalist Charlie Burrell.
This community-led event will help shape the new Adur and Worthing Sustainability Framework.
We start the month in the middle of Fairtrade Fortnight (24 Feb – 8 Mar), which is supported by Worthing Fairtrade.
See the guide of activities to help you plan community events at fairtrade.org.uk.
It’s Global Recycling Day on Wed 18 Mar and although we are doing our bit in Worthing, TTW and Plastic Free Worthing recommend you refuse packaging in the first place. Check our very own Zero Waste Shop Larder who are making this a lot easier to achieve.
Look out for our online Eco Open Houses brochure, or collect a copy from Worthing Town Hall from mid-March. Spanning three weeks in April, it includes visiting eco homes on the main weekend plus lots of fringe events including talks, a draughtproofing workshop, an electric car show in Lancing and a trip to the wind farm!
