Artists all over Worthing are putting their art on show for three summer weekends, and you are invited to come along and enjoy it all. In venues throughout the borough, the work of over 200 artists will be on display – some of it for sale. The work includes painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, textiles, ceramics, jewellery and printmaking. There are workshops, pop-up mini cinemas, activities and, of course, refreshments.

Entry to all venues is free, and visitors are welcome to step inside and meet the artists, often in the place where they produce their work, and see the art as part of an interior; the effect is inspiring! Not to mention the opportunity to enjoy lovely gardens, and perhaps be surprised by live music or spoken word.

Conversation is a huge part of the success of this community arts event, which brings people together in unexpected and delightful ways; meeting up with the people on your street in a neighbour’s house and finding common ground in your interest in art – what could be nicer?

As always, there is something for everyone: young artists will proudly exhibit their work in five of our schools and colleges; professional designers and fine artists show high quality pieces in houses, studios and galleries; enthusiastic and skilled embroiderers, painters, printers and makers are in houses, flats, garages and restaurants. The range is enormous.

Leaflets with maps of the trail and details of the venues are available in numerous outlets around the town, with further details at worthingartistsopenhouse.com.
