Derek Nash who plays all the saxes has been running his own band Sax Appeal for over 30 years. For the last 14 years he has been a featured soloist in the Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. He also runs a very successful recording studio and has recorded many of the top stars. He received a gold disc for recording Jamie Cullum’s 2001 record ‘Pointless Nostalgic’. Benn Clatworthy was born in Hastings but raised in South London. He started playing the drums and guitar before switching to the tenor sax. He was active on the London jazz scene in the 70’s and took lessons from Ronnie Scott. It was Ronnie who suggested that he went to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. Dan Cartwright is an up and coming tenor saxophonist in the south and is a postgraduate from Birmingham Conservatoire.
