Bird in the Belly is a Brighton folk group consisting of Shoreham-bred folk-duo Hickory Signals (Laura Ward and Adam Ronchetti), alt-folk singer-songwriter Jinnwoo (Ben Webb), and multi-instrumentalist and producer Tom Pryor. Together they have collected little-known and forgotten lyrics, poems and stories from around the UK, and set them to their own “hypnotically original compositions” (fRoots). Barbara Dickson and Rab Noakes have been friends since they were teenagers, singing and playing in venues around Scotland. As separate acts they often found themselves performing alongside each other (and other musical luminaries) creating a lifetime bond. Subsequently, they have ‘occasionally’ performed live, sang on each other’s records and remained friends for over 40 years. Together they play a wonderful blend of folk songs,classic pop influences and self written favourites.
