The Telling’s special staged concert-play bringing alive the outstanding woman in western medieval history, her stunning life story and sublime songs and plainchant. London all-female group TheTelling will be two voices (sometimes a third), medieval harp, and actor.
A mystic, scientist, natural healer, philosopher, political adviser to the most powerful men poet . . . but here and now Hildegard is our most popular female composer. Her music, uncovered only in the 1970s, has been used in 20 films and TV programmes, but is still being discovered by growing numbers of amazed concert-goers.
