Vasilis Xenopoulos/Nigel Price Quartet

Vasilis Xenopoulos was born in Athens and started playing both clarinet and piano at 9 years of age. He started on the saxophone at 13 and continued his music studies at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in Athens. In 1999 he was awarded a jazz scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He relocated to London in 2002 and since then has earned himself a reputation as an exciting and top-class player and composer. In 2017 he founded the ‘Xenopoulos/Price Quartet’ and he is regularly playing over 270 gigs a year. He has played at many of the top jazz clubs and festivals in the UK and with just about all the top musicians in the UK. Nigel Price was born and raised in Surrey. He began playing guitar aged 11 and spent the next 7 years messing around in school bands/rock bands etc. After leaving school he moved to Brighton where he discovered fusion and jazz and trained as a sound engineer. Upon moving back to Surrey, he became immersed in the jazz scene and since then has picked up 2 Parliamentary Jazz Awards along with a British Jazz Award for Best Guitarist 2016. He has played with a veritable who’s who in the jazz world as well as playing at Ronnie Scott’s over 500 times. He has also played on over 50 CD’s as well as on 5 as the leader. They are joined tonight by Terry Seabrook on organ and Bobby Worth on drums.
