Dave O’Higgins Quartet

Dave O’Higgins was born in Birmingham but brought up in Derbyshire. He started learning the saxophone aged 15 and moved to London in the early 1980’s when he first formed the O’Higgins Quartet/Quintet. He then joined NYJO for 3 years and also played for 8 years with Cleo Lane and the Johnny Dankworth Quintet. He has been part of several well-known bands including Roadside Picnic and Itchy Fingers. He has recorded and toured with amongst many others Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra and Jim Mullen. He is currently touring with Darius Brubeck and has become a regular member of that band whenever Darius comes to the UK or Europe. He is accompanied tonight by Dave Beebee on piano Godfrey Sheppard on bass and Bobby Worth on drums.
