In January and February we are supporting live music and new music in Worthing through the #Scratchpad project – a music project for young songwriters, performers and producers in partnership with AudioActive and Northbrook MET.
#Scratchpad will run sessions here for six weeks and you will be able to see and hear the work being made by young people as this building is transformed at night into a video installation and listening booth by As Described who create live visuals for bands and brought the Geminate II installation to Colonnnade House last year.
AudioActive are providing the sessions for #Scratchpad. They have a track record of supporting young people to create, record and perform new work and their experienced mentors will be here to work with young and emerging music producers, vocalists, musicians & VJ’s.
sessions are free and run on Wednesdays and Thursdays for six weeks from 17th January – 4.00-6pm for 14-18 year olds and 6.30 – 8.30pm for 19-25 year olds
to register for sessions go to this link: http://audioactive.org.uk/scratchpad/
In March and April we will be working with project partners and local venues to present performances in locations and venues around Worthing, plus a music industry day to bring venues, producers and musicians together to energise Worthing’s live music scene.
#Scratchpad is a partnership project between Adur & Worthing Trust, Audio Active, Northbrook Metropolitan College, As Described and Adur & Worthing Councils with generous funding from Arts Council England, Worthing Town Centre Initiative and Worthing Community Chest.
